Computing Lab Facilities
LCSEE Computer Labs and Classrooms are located in the Engineering Sciences Building and Advanced Engineering Research Building. Lab computers run either LOUD (an LCSEE Optimized version of Ubuntu Linux) or Microsoft Windows 7 Enterprise. The following sections go into greater detail about each lab's uses, hardware, and software.
Additional facilities used as classroom labs are located throughout the Department. These rooms include 137 AER, G22 ESB, G24 ESB, G25 ESB, and G23 ESB. These facilities are used during scheduled lab times. With the exception of the 60 seat 137 AER, most rooms contain 10-12 computers and a network printer. Senior Design locations primarily located in G28 ESB and are also spread throughout the Department. Access is granted through the Senior Design coordinator.
138 AER Learning Center
The 138 AER Learning Center houses 13 PCs for use by LCSEE graduate and undergraduate students. The systems provide multiple software packages and operating systems needed for students to complete LCSEE course assignments.
138 AER is open M-F during most daytime hours. You will need to use your WVU Mountaineer Card to access the lab during late evenings and weekends. To apply for access, please complete the form located at http://its.statler.wvu.edu. Click the Request Card Services Button. You must enter your WVU ID number, Major, MIX email address, and Date of Graduation or your application will be denied. If you have other problems getting into 138 AER, please visit Statler ITS in G40 ESB.
Login to the Ubuntu Linux and Microsoft Windows computers in this learning center with your WVU Login username and password. http://login.wvu.edu.
The 138 AER Learning Center houses 13 computers. Ten of these Intel based computers run the LOUD (Ubuntu Linux) operating system. The other three run Microsoft Windows 7. Below is a list of technical specifications for these machines:

The Learning Center houses a Konica-Minolta monochome Laser printer. Paper and toner are checked by LCSEE Systems Technicians at least twice a day. In the event that supplies have run out, contact LCSEE Systems.

137 AER Computer Classroom
The Statler Computer Classroom located in room 137 AER is home to many Computer Science courses and lab sections. The facility is not generally accessible outside of scheduled class our lab sections.
There are times when LCSEE Systems will proctor open hours for this facilities. Please check the schedule on the 137 AER Open Lab page for information.
The 137 AER computer classroom houses 60 computers. These Intel based computers currently run the a Statler College Windows image that is outfitted with the Lane Department's LOUD (Ubuntu Linux) operating system Virtual Machine. Below is a list of technical specifications for these machines:

Peripherals in 137 AER include a full presentation system with document camera and Sympodium connected to the instructor's terminal and a Konica-Minolta laser printer.
