Media Capture

How do I MANUALLY preserve my Collaborate session?

When a course closes on eCampus (Blackboard,) the Collaborate sessions are lost.  This makes reusing valuable content difficult. By downloading your Collaborate session as an mp4, then uploading it to Mediasite, you can reuse that content in future and other courses.

Process for downloading and uploading Collaborate sessions:

  1. In your eCampus course, download the recording to your computer as a .mp4 file.
  2. Visit your MyMedisite portal, either via a properly configured eCampus course, or our direct link to MyMediasite.
  3. Click the Add Media button in the upper right of the portal.
  4. Choose "I want to upload a file from my computer...Browse Files."
  5. Find and select the .mp4 file of your Collaborate recording.
  6. Give your Presentation a name, Description, and choose the destination folder. If you put it into MyDrafts, you can move it later.
  7. Click the Create Presentation button.
  8. The Collaborate recording will upload and the Mediasite server will process the file and say "Queued for Processing."
  9. Once complete, you may manage, share, and link within eCampus as any other Mediasite presentation.
