Media Capture

How do I create a downloadable (Vodcast) mp4 version of my presentation?

In come cases, such as low bandwidth or offline viewing, streaming a presentation can be difficult.  A Mediasite presentation can be saved as an mp4 video file to make it portable. Instructions are below but please make note of the following:
  • Presentations created with a Mediasite Recorder, Mediasite Desktop Recorder, or Mediasite Capture, with multiple video streams, such as camera + screencast, will be flattened into a video with two boxes for each video stream. The viewer will lose the functionality of the Mediasite player to change video sizes and focus.
  • All Mediasite player options, including Links, Description, Presenter Info, Polls, Quizzes, Q&A, Annotation, etc. become unavailable.
  • There is some quality loss when videos are transcoded to a portable .mp4 file. This may not be ideal for screencasts with small fonts or detailed graphics.
  • If you don't have a presentation created yet, and only have one video stream, consider recording your webcam or screencast with another piece of software to have a native high resolution mp4 file to share on cloud services such as MiX Google Drive, or Office365 OneDrive. You can always upload the video in MyMediasite for streaming as well.
Here are instructions for setting up a downloadable mp4:
  1. Login to MyMediasite, choose your presentation, and click Edit DetailsVodcast - Edit Details
